Everyone — young and old, with children or without — is warmly invited to our annual Shambhala Community event on the Winter Solstice celebrating the wonder of childhood at this joyful time of year.

Children’s Day provides a special opportunity to express appreciation for and with our children.  Children’s Day is held on or near the winter solstice.  At a time when the weather begins to bear down upon us, we turn to family for celebration, creativity, and generosity, as well as celebration of Families and our Family of Community.

This year will be a fun interactive event that will celebrate creativity and generosity!

Light is a special characteristic of this holiday, we celebrate our children and their natural ability to remind us of the warmth, heart, and cheerfulness of Basic Goodness.

Celebration of the Winter Solstice has its roots in many different cultures. The Shambhala Community has a distinctive and rich festival of our own.

You might bring some cookies, beverages will be provided.

Children may wish to bring special items for the shrine (coloured stones, shells, small toys..)

There will be an optional potluck afterwards for those who wish to share some delicious food.
