Meditation provides us a glimpse of goodness that is inherent in our basic being.

It’s a sense of being conscious, aware and open to ourselves and to others. When we are in this state of goodness, we experience nowness as a series of small, delightful surprises. We have a quality of caring and connection. This is actually the root of who we are. It’s also basis of a deep meditation practice.

This city retreat, directed by Shastri Russell Rodgers, will be appropriate for people who want to learn to meditate, or people who already have a meditation practice but want to deepen it by understanding its roots.

The day and a half retreat will consist of walking and sitting meditation, talks, discussion and tea.  It is a warm atmosphere to learn mindfulness practice and perfect for beginners.

The retreat will be held at the Shambhala Centre, 812 Stanley Street, Nelson.  There will be a light breakfast, tea and coffee at 8:30 am on Saturday and again on Sunday morning. Cost: $110, or whatever you can afford.
